1. What is the overall theme of the project? In what ways can this project facilitate the furthering of social development?

The overall theme of the project is they want to show some social issues and policies of transparency; strengthen and expand the right of access to public information to Latin American through the website.

The first way can this project facilitate the furthering of social development is they ample to use Facebook and twitter to spreading their website to teenagers. It is because the most contact the network is teenagers, they can look out this project and what the social issues are happened so easily. The second way is this project is adhering to neutral of political. Their mainly practice of policies are Transparency, Accountability and Citizen Participation in their website. Therefore, they offer an area to critical thinking of teenagers about the political and social issues through their website.

2. What are the contents(written, visual, audio, video etc.) presented in this project?

When we first click into the website, we will be attracted from the background videos. This website promotes the transparency and encourages active citizen participation through the web and other information technologies. We can have a preliminary understanding of the ideas of the website though these videos as the beginning. In the column of their projects, they used different logo to represent different success project. This make us easy to understand the concept and the successful examples may strengthen persuasive.

The main use of color is dark blue of this page and the content is easy to understand. Short paragraphs and continue to emphasize the rationale behind, clear and concise. Also, It uses a chart to present their sources of funding, compared to the use of text, it would be more attractive.

3. How are the contents organized or structured?

This website, Fundación Ciudadano Inteligente, is a one page website, all the information label are presented on the top of the website in horizontal line, including projects, about us , transparency, Blog and Subscription and Contact. The first page shown a video that have wordings in the top. The wording shows the basic infoemation of the organiztion and the aim of this website.

User press the label will roll doen to the position that show the information. In the contents, this website used picture to show their works and all the detail will pop up to the bigger pictures. The would easy to present their work and the work would let user easy to understand. It also used a chart to show their fundings and all the funders. This presentation style would show all the data clear. At last, a newsletter provide to the user that can subcribe to get the latest information of their works. It can attact user and the potential customer to cooperate with them.

4. How do visitors engage with the project? What is the intended navigation mechanism? Are there any interactive/user-generated components?

First when we click in the website, we can know the mission of Fundación Ciudadano Inteligente “We use technology to reveal and participate in democracy, we workto relocate power from the few to the many.” The visitors can know what the website is about at first when they enter. Under the mission statement, they point out three main jobs they do as to let the visitors know about them deeply. This two columns are the informations in their home page, it just need around 2 minutes to let the visitors know about their website when they enter. For the background of the home page, they use a video to attract the visitors to keep their eyes on the home page first. This interactive part can help them to lead the visitors to watch which part of their website first.

If you have enter the website before, you know that the web only have one page, but this page is full of interactive inside. In overall, the website is very concise. It use images or graphics with a little wording to introduce you their missions or the projects they done.

First, there is a column to let you to click to different interface of the website. Visitors can go into the part they want to know easily. Next is the Facebook and Twitter icon on the right side, you can share their website by clicking the icon and it just need to use 10 seconds. Also, if you roll down to see other parts of the web, you can see there is a button on the right down side. It is a button for visitors to go back to the top of the website, thet is home page. Besides, they color tone of the background, words and buttons makes visitors feel comfortable to watch. For the Projects columns, they use graphics with words to be a button to let visitors to click in. This part is the most interesting and interactive part of the web.

This website used flash to show in the top of the page. Also a javascripte photosteam to present their works, the founders and the workers of the organization. Social networking site shoctcut are shown on the right of the page to let user can easily to check out the latest information and the feedback on these website.

6. How would you describe the aesthetics of its design?

The design of “Fundación Ciudadano Inteligente” is a really good reference for us of how we can make some such a informative data into a easy, attractive reading to the website visitors.The website is to encourage people to participate in politics, it is pretty similar with our project, that try to provide comprehensive sex education. We both have massive number of information to show to the people, but with web platform, we can have a new way to promote our project.

At the main page, they have separated, divided in different section, and it allows people can find what they need easily, also they used some info graphic instead of pouring tons of paragraph to explain, they just put few sentence with simple graphic that can give the visitors have the quick idea of what is it about. Also at the top of the website, they have a selection bar, when the visitors want to go to a specific place, they just have to click on it and don’t have to scroll all the way down. At the last of the site, there are comment section, that people can contact to the website, it allows people to have more involve with the site and also allow them to provide their opinion. With the color, they have well use the contrast of red and blue, it provides a fresh image and energetic impression to the visitors, with the color the people would feel more comfortable to stay longer.

Islibrary Project

1. What is the overall theme of the project? In what ways can this project facilitate the furthering of social development?

The overall theme of the project is they are offer a platform of “Share” to the real life like a network 2.0, and they want to recycle the books through the website.

The first way can this project facilitate the furthering of social development is readers can associate with like-minded friends through this platform to widening their social circle. Then, they can share their readings to others and encourage others to reading. The second way is readers can get a two-way communication of “Human Library” from this website. So that, they can share books, stories or experience with others, it can encourage others to reading. On the other hand, readers can join some activities from this website, like a market of recycle. Then, readers can get some knowledge of recycle and share from the website or the market.

2. What are the contents(written, visual, audio, video etc.) presented in this project?

This page requires the use of color is green and white which is giving a fresh feeling with the theme of reading. Enter to its home page, we would see pictures of link to publicize information with slide show. There are four buttons on the bottom left of the page which is to give the reader may also be involved in the activities of this page and the continuation of the concept of reading and communicating, enhanced interactivity.

The most prominent feature of this page is each item of information will next to a small pictures, this can enhance the richness of the web page, not only have the text and being monotonous. In addition to the reason of creation and the behind concept of profile page, there are also stories to share, not only the informative which can rich the content of this page.

3. How are the contents organized or structured?

This website present all the news feed on the middle of the page. A slideshow set on the top and the pressing label are shown on the top, including ‘Hi Library’, ‘Human Library’, ‘Social Innovation’,l ‘About Us’ and “ Contact Us’.At the bottom of the page are the latest news and the event of the Islibrary. This way to present the event would lose focus by the user.

On the right of the home page, have two label, ‘ Look for Islibrary’ and the ‘Join Us’, it would pop up into a specific page.

The page style would not change if the user press within the wesite, so the consistency of the page are good to look and user can easy to read.

4. How do visitors engage with the project? What is the intended navigation mechanism? Are there any interactive/user-generated components?

For Islibrary Project, you can see there is a big image slider which contain two large images inside. The two images are the banner of the web and the words inside are their slogan and some data which can let the visitors know what they do and how large they do. On the top of the website, the meni bar contains of six buttons to six different interfaces of the website. Each buttons tell visitors what their website include so when the visitors first enter the page, these things can tell them what is about their page and the visitors will stay there if they interest.

After the image slider, there are three buttons which are the important information of the page. It can let the visitors to click in and see the informations of the website. Next to these three buttons, there is a tool which help visitors to search what they want.

At the lowest part of the website, there is a slider which the website suggest the visitors to know more. This website is interactive but it is not enough for our group to do our website.

5. What kinds of web development tools, applications and technologies are employed?

The website used javescripte slideshow to present the event information on the top and the bottom of the page. Also user QR code to get addtional infomation for the user to get further infomation. Also a search engine prviode for user to search the information that they want from the tones of data.

6. How would you describe the aesthetics of its design?

The website of “Islibrary Project” is pretty similar with the project that we are doing. In the “Islibrary Project”, they used many different methods to interactive with the book reader, it is a good reference for us to understand how to make such a one man activity into a interactive activity. The design of this website is pretty simple but clear. They used white and green as their theme colors, it makes people feel comfortable to look at and also easy to look at. At the top of the website, it has a slide show update,when visitors click in, they can have a quick look of the new stuff of the website. At the corner, the have a “contact” section, so that the visitors can contact to the website easily. Also they have a section bar at the top, it separates in different section, and the people can see where they want to go. At the bottom, it has section that allows peoples to join in the organization, or donate to the group. Overall, the website has a clear layout, people won’t get confused when they come in.
